Several airline shopping portals have new promotions to earn bonus miles. These are listed as member appreciation bonuses rather than a promotion for a holiday. With these, you can earn up to 3,700 bonus miles after spending $900. These offers end soon, so you need to act quickly if you’re interested.

Airline shopping portal bonuses are on top of the miles you’ll earn through the shopping portals and points earned on your credit card from the purchase. That means you’re triple-dipping on rewards with your online purchases.

Here’s a look at the bonus miles currently available from airline shopping portals.

Alaska and Delta Portals

Alaska was running a similar promotion through their portal to earn up to 2,000 miles after spending $400, but that one ended early on May 9. Delta seems to have completely missed the bandwagon on this promotion. Instead, these portals are offering elevated payouts with the following merchants:

  • Adidas
  • Gobble
  • Sephora
  • Sunglass Hut
  • Zoro.com
  • And many, many more.

Final Thoughts

These promotions are given as “members appreciation bonuses”, and it’s a decent amount of points you can earn if you’re willing to spend the minimum $900 needed to get all the bonuses. The promotion isn’t quite the number of bonus miles offered by previous promotions (6,000 or more bonus miles), but every little bit helps. You’ll need to spend minimally $900 to claim the full 3,700 bonus miles. Or just spend $50 in the AAdvantage Shopping Portal for an easy 400 miles.

A true points maximizer will also want to check a site like CashBackMonitor or Evreward to make sure there isn’t a better portal bonus for the same retailer. In situations where the total number of bonus points is comparable, earning Membership Rewards through Rakuten (formerly Ebates) may be the highest-value option for online purchases.

Also, it’s worth checking to see what other deals these portals are offering. Each shopping portal is different, and perhaps your portal will have special bonuses for the store you want to shop at.

Another thing to keep in mind is that shopping portals are a great way to prevent your miles from expiring.
